A Nation Mourns

We join with the nation, commonwealth and world in mourning our late, great Queen Elizabeth II.

Words cannot convey our profound sense of loss for a queen who was mother to our nation. She was a rock and a symbol of duty and service which inspired us all. We recall her pledge to the nation so many years ago.

“I declare before you all that my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong.”

She truly fulfilled that pledge and we as a nation have benefited from the decades of leadership and stability.

She was a woman of great faith and humility and today as the Crown passes to her son we know she will be receiving her eternal crown one which will not tarnish or fade.

As an Order we wish to convey our sympathy to her family and especially to her son Charles. As he becomes our new King we pray that he will follow the example of his mother, that he will defend the faith and promote the good of the nation.

We say with one voice that traditional refrain.
“The Queen is dead- Long Live the King”
