As an Institution we remain above party politics, however we believe it is our Christian duty to vote and play an active part in securing godly government in our nation.
As Northern Ireland goes the polls today we would encourage our Sir Knights to prayerfully consider the candidates before them. While this may be local government elections we see increasing power being handed to the super councils.
We do not influence members on how they vote and respect their choices. Nor do we promote publicly our members who are standing for election.
We wish them well as individuals and know the hard work they have put in on the campaign trail. We also know and can vouch for their character and competence.
We believe they will use their office to live out the ethos and ideals of our Order and ensures it’s positive influence is felt at the heart of government.
